Summary/objective:
This position performs landscaping and related services to maintain safe and attractive grounds at our locations in Greeneville, TN. Typical activities include turf maintenance, pruning and trimming of trees, shrubs, etc., maintaining irrigation systems, applying herbicides and pesticides, and similar duties.
The ideal candidate would have prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticultural, or similar roles. The schedule for this role is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm. Preference will be given to candidates with experience maintaining golf courses or sports fields.
Requirements:
- Experience in maintaining various types of lawns, greenery, and plants as well as having a working understanding of groundskeeping and landscaping practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment including mowers, trimmers, saws, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Requires a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and driving capability.
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time and sustain repetitive movement.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must subscribe to the agency’s Mission Statement and Organizational Values.
- Must be aware of and sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of those served by the agency.
