Beacon School

The Bruce and Mary Cunningham Center is situated on the agency's main campus.  It is the center of activity for the group-care facilities and houses a gymnasium, Beacon School-Quillen Day Treatment Program and Chapel.

Beacon School is a school serving students from the group care programs as well as day students from area public school systems.  For the day students Beacon School often helps a child remain in the community in family care rather than being placed into a residential treatment or mental health facility.  It is approved by the Tennessee Department of Education, licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Children and Families.

Other key components of service include Christian life activities, individual and group counseling, family counseling, alcohol and drug education, adventure-based counseling, adaptive living and independent-living skills training.

The Chapel provides a center for Christian development and worship for the children and staff of Holston Home.

We are appreciative of Bruce and Mary Cunningham, and to the late Congressman Jimmy Quillen, who led the campaign to fund this beautiful facility for the benefit of our children.

Students gathered to pray at Beacon School for "See You at the Pole."

It was a rich time of prayer and reflection.
