Holston Home operates a variety of group-care programs ranging from less structured community-based homes to highly structured residential treatment setting. These programs are part of the agency's larger Continuum of Care providing foster family and adoption services, day treatment, and intensive in-home services with birth families.
Our goal is to provide individualized attention to each youth's educational, behavioral, spiritual, and mental health needs while moving toward placement in a permanency setting.
Every group care facility is staffed with trained teacher-counselors who provide direct care and supervision. These staff are supported by Child and Family Specialists, program directors and supervisors, mental health professionals, adventure-based counselors, and a director of spiritual life.
Referrals may come from private families, state custodial agencies, and other area provider agencies. Fees are negotiated with state agencies and insurance companies; private families pay for services on a sliding scale based on income.
Licensed by the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
Accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services (a national accrediting body).
Holston United Methodist Home for Children does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, or handicapping conditions in the provision of its services and in its hiring practices. Our services are funded in part by state custodial agencies, family fees, third party (insurance) payments, and church and private support.
