Summary/objective:
This position is responsible to the Administrator of Clinical and NE Family Services for carrying out the functions of the agency in regard to foster parent training and compliance. Periodic travel between Tri-Cities, Greeneville and Knoxville is required. The focused responsibilities include: Assessing, training & approving prospective foster parents, providing in-service training for current foster parents, writing home studies, annual re-evaluations, and ensuring that foster parent files remain in compliance with standards. Some nights and weekends are required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
- Prior experience in child-welfare or experience as a foster/adoptive parent preferred, but not required.
- Experience in writing Home Studies (preferred)
- Certified trainer for TN Key (Knowledge Empowers You) is preferred.
- Competent trainer and presenter in public forums.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Available to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends for teaching.
- Detail oriented and ability to work within timelines and deadlines.
- Strong relationship skills and ability to provide needed guidance and support to foster parents.
- Maintain foster parent files to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Starting Salary: $41,000, based on education and experience.
